Fees & Insurance

Investing in your healing is one of the most meaningful things you can do for yourself.

Session Fees

Individual therapy sessions are $275.

I believe that good therapy should be accessible to the people who need it. If the full fee presents a barrier, I offer a sliding scale on a case-by-case basis. Please don’t hesitate to bring this up during our initial consultation—it’s a conversation I welcome, and it will never affect the quality of your care.

Insurance

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance companies directly.

However, many insurance plans include out-of-network benefits that can reimburse a significant portion of your session fees. If you’d like to use these benefits, I’m happy to provide you with a superbill—a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

I recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card or your company’s human resources and asking:

  • “Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health?”
  • “What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?”
  • “What percentage of the fee is reimbursed after the deductible?” This information can help you understand what your plan will cover before we begin.

Why Private Pay?

Working outside of insurance allows me to provide the kind of therapy I believe in—without the constraints that insurance companies often place on treatment. There are no limits on the number of sessions, no required diagnoses, and no outside parties involved in your care. What happens in our work together stays between us.

This also means I can offer the full range of modalities I’m trained in—including EMDR, Gestalt therapy, somatic approaches, and sex therapy—without needing to fit your treatment into a predetermined box.

Finally, once your out-of-network deductible has been met, many plans pay out more per session for out-of-network care than they pay directly to in-network providers—so the difference in what you spend is often smaller than people expect. Working this way means I can afford to see a smaller number of clients. I am not forced to stretch my capacity, and I am able to offer all of my clients the best possible care.
